What’s Your Move Day – An Inclusive Sports Festival

We had a day FULL of fun at What’s Your Move Day, an Inclusive Sports Festival, on the 24th January at Barnsley Metrodome. It was a fantastic sports festival designed for everyone!

What’s Your Move Day was jam-packed full of sports and activities, such as: karate, blind football, boccia, RampUp, wheelchair basketball, and so much more.

Our friends at GrassRoots Sports Academy, What’s Your Move, Barnsley FC, and Focus4Vision helped make this day a success – alongside our Community Connector for Disability Sports and Physical Activity, Claire.

She said, “It was great to see so many people attending the event and taking part in the activities.” Claire was there to introduce attendees to learn about the inclusive activities that Barnsley has to offer. “GrassRoots got 18 attendees at the Monday night wheelchair basketball game last night, and all said they came because of Saturday’s event. This is a great outcome! Hopefully, people also received information on Saturday about what inclusive sports events are taking place in the area. I hear that Shaw Lane’s first inclusive sports day yesterday was also well attended.”

If you missed What’s Your Move Day, get in touch with Claire to hear more about the inclusive activities you may want to get involved in. She can help you find an activity best suited for you.
