Volunteering
– Learning, sharing and helping others
Volunteering at DIAL
Becoming a volunteer at DIAL will offer you the chance to be involved in every aspect of the work we do. You’ll be able to learn new skills as well as use your existing skills and experience to help people in Barnsley.
We promise you that DIAL will:
Value the work that you do
Create a safe and inclusive environment
Celebrate your diversity
Help you achieve your personal goals
There are many different volunteering roles available to you and whichever one you choose, you’ll be offered the training and support you need to make a real difference to the people you’ll be working with.
At DIAL, we understand that our volunteers have many demands on their lives, so we ask for only a half-day a week commitment to your volunteering role. However, you can do more if you choose to.

“Volunteering at DIAL has given me back my confidence in a working and social environment without the pressure. Due to my ill health volunteering has enabled me to give back to this valuable service. I have met some great people and I love the feeling that I can help to make a difference in someone’s life.”
