Volunteer as a Penistone Befriender!

Would you like to help others and support your community?

Together, we can create and build meaningful connections that’ll improve the well-being of older residents in Penistone. By offering weekly one-to-one, friendly contact for just one hour a week, either on the phone or in person, you will help reduce loneliness and strengthen their sense of community belonging.

Our volunteers also benefit by gaining a strong sense of purpose and fulfillment. You’ll have access to training and professional development, and feel valued in the important work you do.

Let’s build a more connected community, together!

Extra Information:

Befrienders are required to undergo safeguarding training and have a DBS check. For those befriendees with dementia, the befriender will require a little extra training to support them.
