DIAL’s 40th Birthday Celebrations  Come along to our 40th Birthday Celebrations – join us on the Thursday 23rd October at The Lightbox, Barnsley Library. There’ll be entertainment, refreshments, stalls of DIAL’s history, a chance to speak about our current services, and a gallery of your artwork. We’ll be celebrating 40 years of DIAL from 11am – 4pm. We can’t wait to see you there! Please RSVP Nicola: nicola.walker@dialbarnsley.org.uk  Art CompetitionWe’re inviting you to get involved in our Big 4-0 Art Show… The theme is ‘What does disability mean to you?’ Whether you paint, draw, sculpt, write, sew, knit or create digitally – this competition is open to everyone and in any art medium you choose, no matter your skill level. Express yourself and have fun! Submit your entries by 30th of September. 1st Prize is £400, 2nd and 3rd Prize is £40. We’ll be announcing the winner of our Big 4-0 Art Competition at 12pm, 23rd of October, The Lightbox. For every £50 we raise, we can fund an hour long phone call with one of our expert Advisors. That includes an hour of our Advisors’ time and a portion of electricity, phone costs and rent. Our Advice Line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm, and offers free, confidential advice and information to anyone in Barnsley. We help with a wide range of disability-related issues, from benefits checks to see what people are eligible for, to general welfare advice, and signposting to local services and support. |
