2025 is a milestone year for DIAL – we turn 40! That’s 40 years of supporting disabled people, their families and carers in Barnsley. Over the past 4 decades, we have offered expert advice and information, explored skills and opportunities, connected our community, and promoted healthier lifestyles. We’re incredibly proud of this achievement, but it has only been possible thanks to the funding we receive and the amazing support of our local community.
To celebrate our 40th birthday, we’re aiming to raise £4,000 to strengthen and expand our core Advice Line service. For every £50 we raise, we can fund an hour long phone call with one of our expert Advisors. That includes an hour of our Advisors’ time and a portion of electricity, phone costs and rent.
Our Advice Line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm, and offers free, confidential advice and information to anyone in Barnsley. We help with a wide range of disability-related issues, from benefits checks to see what people are eligible for, to general welfare advice, and signposting to local services and support.
If you’d like to support our birthday fundraiser, please donate as much or as little as you can – and don’t forget to share it with your friends and family! You can also join in by holding your own fundraising event, such as a bake sale, sponsored run or coffee morning. We also have an exciting Art Competition (more details coming soon!).
