– communities helping each other, one hour at a time
Would you like to become more active in your community? Help others and help yourself at the same time? hOurbank is your community timebank. It’s a way for communities to help each other – one hour at a time. It really works and it makes good things happen.
You could help someone with their shopping or housework and in return someone could help you with your garden or walk your dog. It’s easy to get help with small things which might otherwise prove difficult, like hanging a picture or getting a lift. All members share their skills and knowledge and no money ever changes hands.
hOurbank is a good way to make new friends. Our regular coffee mornings, monthly activity sessions and walking group are all ways to socialise, learn a new skill, have fun and get fit. You can be involved as much or as little as your life allows and the only currency is time. Age is no barrier, we have members aged fifteen to ninety three and everyone has some skills which they can share with others.
Membership is free and you have full control over what you choose to do and what you would like in return.
“Being a part of hOurbank has given me the chance to make new friends and to do something for others at the same time. I feel valued and respected and I know that any contribution I make to the hOurbank is going a long way towards helping my community”
